Mom Learned a New Word

Me at 2 months/
We've shared this Dean Koontz quote before, but it is good and true and deserves to be repeated.

"Golden retrievers are not bred to be guard dogs, and considering the size of their hearts and their irrepressible joy in life, they are less likely to bite than to bark, less likely to bark than to lick a hand in greeting. In spite of their size, they think they are lap dogs, and in spite of being dogs, they think they are also human, and nearly every human they meet is judged to have the potential to be a boon companion who might, at many moment, cry, "Let's go!" and lead them on a great adventure."

Most recently when Mom re-read this statement, a new word popped out.

Boon.

Hey, that's what she calls me!

Mom looked it up right away.

boon

noun
1. something to be thankful for; blessing; benefit

Me at 4 months.

I might have been born and raised in the "Boondocks", but I am a "boon" for sure.

Mom says not only am I a huge blessing, but everyday I give her something to be thankful for.

Me at 6 months.

And that's what it's all about.
