Yesterday our family took part in Mississippi's 6th annual
Responsible Dog Owner Day in Jackson. We had such a blast!
 |
Kudzu rode in Connor's lap on the way. |
Mom, Dad, and kiddos have been to RDOD a couple of times before, but thinks this year it was way more fun. There were lots of booths set up with vendors, breed, and club information. We sat and watched a conformation show, a rally event, and tons more. Everybody loved all over us and most questioned about Kudzu's missing leg. Mom was even interviewed for the news telling about Kudzu and what his life is like now.
(You can check out that video HERE.
It is located in the upper right hand corner of the page.)Our favorite part was when the hoo-man children participated with us in a few of the events.

This was a relay contest to see who could dress their pup the fastest. We Southern boys had 'em shed before we got back to the starting line! AROOOF! |

Here we are competing in obedience.
Mom was surprised at how much attention I'd apparently showed during the conformation event. When it was announced that I'd won first place in obedience, I went into my "show dog stance."
That's right, first place!! Go me, go me!!
Kudzu didn't do too shabby either. He placed third!!!
Golden's ruled the day!
Afterward's we went to PetSmart to get a reward for our hard work. It was Kudzu's first trip. Boy, was he in awe!
"You mean we can take this stuff home? For real???"
The next part in our day was the biggest surprise for me. Mom had called my first hoo-man mom and told her we were in town. She brought my doggie mommy and older half brother to meet me.
"Rosco!! Oh, how I've missed you, brudder!!!"
My mom and me! Isn't she beautiful!!
Hoo-man mom was so surprised that I instantly knew my mom and brudder. I'm not sure what she expected, but I was ecstatic to see them and danced with delight!
Then it was time to head home. We were all pretty tired but had such a great day! I can't wait to do it again!!
Kudzu konked out!
