Boon's Sunday Sermon #21 - Being Who You Were Made to Be

Of the over four hundred dog breeds recognized across the world, each was specially designed for a specific purpose. Border Collies were bred to herd, Beagles were bred to hunt, Dachshunds were bred to "go to ground" in search of rodents.  Dobermans were bred to guard.  Poodles were bred for water.  And the list goes on and on.

Just like each and every dog breed was created with a pre-determined intention, so were you.

Psalm 139: 14 assures us that we are fearfully and wonderfully made and that all of our days were ordained before one came to be.

When God created you, He had something special in mind.  God doesn't make accidents.  Everything about you from your talents to your quirks, God has given you to bring forth what He has set for your life.

Many times we get so caught up in what our quirks are that we forget that they can be used for God's glory.  We try to transform into the image that the world tells us is normal and acceptable.  We become robots instead of the one of kind, designer made product of God that we are.

To quote Rose Bud from The Buddies movies - "You’re too extraordinary to be ordinary.”

Instead of trying to be someone you were never intended, allow yourself to become who God created you to be and watch His will for your life come to pass.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Jeremiah 29:11
