Mom caught wind of what was going on. She walked to the backdoor and called in high pitched voice to the tune of "Love Shack", "BOON DOCKS..Boondocks, bay-a-bee". I came running.
It was the voice of my master calling. A voice to which I am well tuned. I ran to her as fast as my four legs would carry me.
Humans aren't always as quick to respond to their master's voice. They pass it off as a mere thought in their mind instead of the possibility that God is speaking to their hearts.
God speaks to us in many ways. He uses His word, The Holy Bible, to teach and instruct. He uses men He has chosen to teach His Word to us. And at times, He uses that "still, small voice" to guide our hearts to His will.
It is our responsibility when we hear His voice to respond. Had I not come when mom called for me, her speaking was in vain. When God speaks it is never in vain. He is asking for a response from us. Revelations 3:20 says, "
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me."
God will never force Himself on you. He waits for you to answer His voice.
Psalm 29:4 says, "The voice of the LORD is powerful;
the voice of the LORD is majestic."
Awesome word!!!! May we listen and step out in faith when we hear the Lord speaking.
