Boon's Sunday Sermon #11 - Waiting on The Lord

Sometimes Mom goes where we dogs can't see her.  We don't like when that happens.  We always want to be right where she is.  Whether she is away from home or just in another room, we sit and wait for her to return to where we are.  We know that she loves us, and that she will be back.

Watching and waiting

Sometimes as children of God, you don't feel like you are where God is.  God promises in His Word that He will never forsake or abandon you.  He says "when we seek Him with our whole heart, we will find Him."  God longs to be with His children, but there are times that situations arise that leave you feeling helpless, hopeless, and alone - a prayer has gone unanswered or the miracle has yet to occur - but God is always near.

Sometimes His answer is to simply wait.  Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him.  Psalm 37:7

Isaiah 40:31 says, "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

Wherever you are right now, God is near.

Be patient.  Wait.  He will deliver you.

It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.  Lamentation 3:26

Have a blessed week, friends!

  3. Hi Y'all,

Wow, that was a great one. Thanks Boondocks. I never really understood the "God" thing the Humans insist on going to see. You're startin' to make it make sense to even me, a pawed one.

    Y'all come by now,

  5. So true and good to know. Makes all of us feel so much better to know that there is one out there who loves and cares about us SO!

I think God has a soft spot just for us Dogs because he taught us how to love almost like Him!

    Glad I stopped by:)

  6. Very appropriate for what I needed to hear at this time. Waiting can be difficult, especially when things are not going well, but I have Faith and know He is always here. Thanks for the lovely post!

  7. True True. Although I am still learning to wait for my MOM, it's hard for me to be away from her (unless I am at Doggie Day Care, it makes it easier).
My MOM is a pastor and starting in November every 3rd Sunday is "bring your dog to worship with you!"
Now, I get to go with her all the time during the week and now my friends can join me on the 3rd Sunday. I'm excited, MOM's excited and the congergation is excited.
    Blessings,
    Goose
