News Worth Sniffing

My mom is news obsessed.  It might be that she majored in journalism in college and those 'hound-sniffing' days never completely passed her.  Whatever the case, she always loves, loves, loves reading real life stories of animals from every day life.  Today we wanted to share some of the stories we've read this week that are worth the time to sniff out and enjoy.

First up - The story of the Georgia pooch, Honey Bun, that ate $10,000 worth of diamonds at her owner's jewelry store.

This is what I'm saying about it:  If dog's are man's best friend and diamonds are a girl's best friend, then isn't Honey Bun a pooch everyone can agree on??  You can read more about that story here.

Did you know that zoo animals predicted the earthquake in Washington earlier this week?  Some began acting irritated and retreating to higher ground some fifteen minutes before the earth shook.  What do they know that those humans don't?  You can read the full report on FoxNews.

"GRRRR---"

And perhaps the most touching story of the week is the one of fallen Navy SEAL hero, Jon Tumilson, and his beloved dog, Hawkeye.  You know, a picture is worth a thousand words and this one speaks for itself.  So we'll leave you with it.  (You can read more at MSNBC.)

"Good boy, Hawkeye.  Good boy."

Y'all stop back by.  Tomorrow we are reviewing some of Purina's new pet products, and Saturday we are going to share all the PROM news.  You won't want to miss it!
